Our client is an established consulting engineering firm who is responsible for the design of infrastructure and site services to a new mining development in Mpumalanga.

They wish to appoint an Electrical Resident Engineer on a limited duration contract of 12 - 14 months to be responsible for construction supervision and quality management of LV and MV electrical infrastructure. The electrical infrastructure consisting of the following:

• Medium-voltage reticulation, including overhead and underground systems;
• Medium-voltage switchgear;
• Power factor correction equipment;
• Centralised standby diesel generator system including bulk diesel storage and handling systems;
• Low-voltage reticulation including transformers, miniature substations, distribution boards and lighting distribution boards;
• Earthing and lightning protection systems;
• Area, roadway and parking lighting systems; and
• Motor control centers to support the mine’s water systems.

This opportunity will be of interest to an Electrical Engineer or Electrical Technologist who has at least five years experience in a similar position.
